ANZAC Heroes

Today Mrs. Raj had read us a sad story about World War 1. The title was Jim’s letters. Jim was from Otago, NZ. Jim's full name was Jim Duncan. Jim and Tom were brothers and they sent letters to each other while Jim was at war and Tom was at home with their mum, dad and little sister. They would both send each other letters to see what was going on at War and Tom would send letters to Jim about what was going on at home.

During the war, Tom sent a letter to Jim but his letter didn't get through to him, it was sent back to Tom saying "Addressee missing in action 8 August 1915 - Believed killed." The family was very sad, Jim's little sister didn't know what was going on but she was still sad. Their parents were really sad and Tom was the most upset. Tom wrote a letter to Jim but did not send it, he kept it with the rest of Jim's letters that Jim sent to Tom.
